The Art of serving God Ep03

THE ART OF SERVING THE LORD

Episode 03

AN ART OF SERVING GOD

Serving God is an art. And to be able to serve God as a Christian, there is a need for you to develop that art. For a Christian to make comfident achievements in the field of serving God; an art of serving Him has to be developed.

Many of christians are saying that they are willing to serve God, none will tell you that he/she is not willing. But the problem comes when you ask them “then why aren’t you serving Him?” , Here you will get answers like “I love to serve God but I don’t know how to begin”. Or “I am not comfident, I normally have got this fear like how am I going to do it? Or what am I going to say?”.

So we have many christians in the church who say they are willing but when looking at it they are not really ready for it.

You may be willing but not ready; also you may be ready but not willing (depending on the perspective)

Looking at the number of people we have in the church, those that are born again. If only ten of them would reach out for the gospel sake, we would not have had enough space to keep the new souls in the church. But why does it seem like nothing is really happening “Where is the power of the Gospel?”. This is because we have people, who are not ready and willing to reach out with the message of the Gospel. What is really holding them in those walls from January to December?

Jesus said;

Luke 12:8-9
[8] Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
[9] But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

You have a very sure message, that others are in need of, for them to live. And because of the way we look at ourselves and our abilities, we limit that message from spreading; we are limiting it from saving others.

The only way to overcome fear is to begin doing

We will not be able to move out of our doors if we keep thinking that, the work of the gospel is for certain people.

The main qualification that you are approved for the work of the gospel is the salvation that you have. There is no any other ability that will come to you to tell you to reach out to others. Every Christian is qualified to preach the gospel. Whether you have just received the Lordship of Jesus Christ yesterday or today morning or just few hours ago; Your testimony of salvation itself is enough to change another person. There is no greater testimony as this “I was once lost, but now I’m found”.

Read: Revelation 12:11
[11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.*

How do we develop an art of serving God?

An art of serving God is not actually the skill acquired in/for serving God. We don’t need skills or trainings before moving out to others (am not saying that it is wrong to have skills before reaching out to others how would you work in a field that you don’t understand?); there is something very important that we need and that is The owner of the work ( THE HOLY SPIRIT). He will teach us what to say at that time.

What we need to do is to walk out of our doors. Walk out of that comfort zone

What will really touch a non believer is not the way you arrange your words; but the presence of the Holy Spirit in that conversation.

If we take a statistics for those that are accepting Christ at the crusades, we will come to agreement that the number recorded on paper, in not the same as the number of those that will stand for long. If 100 people come forward to be led into confession, only 5 or 15 people will stay in after the crusade. The remaining ones will be accepting Jesus in every crusade that will be held in those areas😁😁.

What is wrong here is that the remaining 85 did not really mean it. Is that a mistake of the preacher? No it’s not.

But if that is for a crusade, what about when a single individual moves to preach to another person? If it is just only because of skills, you will have people confessing but none standing. There is a need for the Holy Spirit to be present in the service that we do. So that what can not be confirmed by words will be proven by power.

Paul puts it this way;

1 Corinthians 2:4
[4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ What makes us to preach the gospel is not to convince others to join our church; but for them to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.

Walk out and begin to do the gospel, and you will get accustomed to it, and you will develop an art of serving God in that area.
