HOW TO KNOW WHEN GOD SPEAKS

THE VOICE OF GOD

Let us read from the scriptures👇👇

John 10:27
[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Here Jesus is telling us one of the indicators that He is our shepherd, and He monitors our every move. What indicates that we are his own, and He owns us.

The indication that we are His sheep is not the presence of His voice; but our ability to follow the voice that is already present.

And Jesus says “my sheep hear my voice”, He doesn’t say that “I speak only to my sheep”. And He says again that He knows those that hears Him when He speaks, when He speaks He is able to differentiate between those that are smart enough to hear, from those that are not able to hear when He speaks.

And He says that those that are Hearing His voice follow Him. And nothing can snatch them from His hands.

People of God I want us to see something here.

God is a speaking God, ( as we have seen earlier). He is a God of all. He will make His voice available for everyone; but the only qualification that you are His sheep is our ability to hear when He speaks.

So anyone can hear and obey and be one of His sheep. So what disqualies us from being His sheep, is when we are not able to hear Him. And when we are able to follow His voice.

Any sheep can hear the whistle, but only your sheep will come to you after the whistle. Anyone’s dad can speak near you, but when your dad speaks, you will be moved with the voice.

For example: when you go to a sinner to preach to him; it is the voice of God that will convince him to know the value of your message and see into his life, then we have him breaking in tears repenting and following Jesus Christ. The moment he is able to acknowledge the voice is a sure sign that he is chosen to be Jesus’ sheep. You can go to the next person with the same message, and he would even chase you away😞. So the voice is available, but the issue comes with who is a sheep?

You might be a Christian, going to church every Sunday, singing hymes in the choir. But when you are hearing another voice apart from the voice of God. Then you are not a part of His family. Your inability to follow His voice is an indication that you are not His own.
It doesn’t matter what service you do in the church, whether you love mixing yourself in prayer sessions, and you pray also, but as long as you are not able to be moved by the instructions of Jesus Christ ( his voice), then you are not part of his flock. If you are not hearing from God, then there must be another shepherd for you, that you hear from.

Everything we do, everywhere we go, whatever we think, whatever we say; God has made His voice around every aspect of our lives, the voice of God is everywhere. So that we don’t live a life of confusion. The medicine to confusion is the voice of God. The voice of God is there to prosper us.

And He says👇👇
Deuteronomy 28:1
[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

There is a reward in hearing His voice. The voice of God doesn’t come only when you think you need it. But that desire to hear from God makes you ready to access the voice that is already available. ( Remember about eternity).

God is ready to save mankind even a sinner can decide to obey and prosper.
