Conditions necessary for every believer
How do we get to hear from God?
3: Be watchful (Hab 2:2) [ God’s voice in silence]
There are moments as Christians, especially for those that have been familiar with God’s voice; where we may find ourselves in position where you can’t hear the voice the way you used to hear,. And you ask yourself “what is wrong with me?” Trying to check to see where you have gone wrong so that you may repent. You find no sin. And then you begin to think that “maybe God has left me”. And then we find a confused Christian. What if God has put you in that condition so that He may teach you how to hear Him from such dimension of His voice.
God can speak even without speaking. How do you interprete his silence? Silence is a voice in itself. So don’t rush to complain when you don’t seem to hear anything. Because even when you don’t hear anything, you are still hearing something.
For example, you have been a very Prayerful person, and during that moment, you would receive Revelations and many instructions from God concerning your life and others. And it came a time when you can no longer hear anything, and by that silence you came to your senses and realized that there is something that you have left doing. “If you were appreciating when you could hear an audible voice, why don’t you appreciate it when silence has reminded you of what you should be doing?”
Sometimes there is a time when God gave you an instruction with a solution concerning your issue. But you were not attentive, or you heard but still continued to seek for another voice that you thought might be more clearer than the one you heard. And as you digged more in prayer, you were receiving nothing interms of the voice. You desired a vision but the dreams that came were more confusing that it were better for you to hear nothing at the first place ( your dreams were the results of your thoughts😂😂😂). Imagine you are seeking a confirmation from God concerning your decisions ( let’s say about relationship or anything that needs a tough decision) and you go to God and He is silent🤔.
God is not a witchdoctor, that he would speak to please or fulfill your ambitions. If he sees that He has spoken to you concerning the issue, and you received a solution already, whether by meditation, or through an article that you read on the internet or any other way that you unerstood; but you were still not ready to take it and act on it. Instead you went on seeking for another message that you thought would satisfy you more than the one you heard. He will be silent to let you look back and return to the point of the first voice. He will be waiting for you to return to the place where you left Him standing, so that you may begin walking with Him from that point.
So silent itself will be a voice to remind you that “son/daughter relax and return to the first place and look at the situation from that point, then let’s walk together”
There are people in the body of Christ, that like to use their minds on everything. Such are likely to face silence.
The Bible says👇👇
Proverbs 3:5-6
[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
[6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Having a message from God, and still thinking that there is a clear message that would please you, to God is a sign of lack of trust. Failing to trust God is failing to trust God. Because God is His word,; God is His voice.
I’ve had such people that when I gave them a prophetic message and instructions concerning their matters; the next day they would come again saying “man of God, what is God saying again concerning my issue?” Remember they have not yet fulfilled the first instructions from the Lord and they are now like wanting to hear something more exciting than what they have received. And because of humility, I would repeat the same message and encourage them to follow it as soon as possible. And you would see the person leaving but looking at him is like he expected me to say something different concerning the same thing. Such people enjoy hearing from God but not willing to do according to the voice. You can be with them for twelve hours just prophesying, and they are really excited, then try to check what they have done so far as an obedience to the word, nothing😁😁. The same way they deal with the Holy Spirit.

[22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
[23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Let’s look at the other side of it
Sometimes God may be silent (according to the way we define silence though as for me I know that God is never silent), not because He is really silent, but because He wants to develop a heart of trust in you,so that you may learn to trust Him with the little things that are very difficult to acknowledge. He wants you to develop such a level of accuracy where you can notice His voice in very little things. David when he was in desire to find something to praise God for, he decides to praise God even by looking at his own body. He says “I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..”( Psalm 139: 14)
So one thing to understand is that, God’s silence is not really silence.
Imagine someone who has been left by the HOLY SPIRIT, because of blasphemy, he comes to a man of God crying that he is no longer experiencing God; and just before you lay hands on him you hear a warning “don’t touch him for I have rejected him!”. Do you know that, that is the voice he wanted to hear.
God’s silence is not really silence. May God help us all to be ready to hear God and obey Him when He speaks.
