DAY 1.
Tonight am going to be touching on something very short but deep, as an introduction
I’ll be giving a general picture on this gift called DISCERMENT
This is one of the gifts in the body of Christ, that the Bible says that are the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
As it is written in the book of 1Corinthians 12: 10
[10]To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
We have been teaching about prophecies, miracles and other gifts and most of us are so concentrated on those, which are very important. But when coming to touch on discerment of spirits we just mention it like that and then jump into other things
Hear this every gift has got it’s way of operation, it has got it’s own way of manifestation, as much as we have to teach on any gift be it prophecy or speaking in other tongues or discerment of spirits. We must first make sure that we have truly managed to explore on these gifts, to an extent that we can teach the one who operates under them better.
I have seen people who are not prophets teaching concerning prophecy, and what they have been doing is first running to criticize rather than helping the young prophets on how to go in their prophetic gifts.
The same with the healing ministry, having people who know nothing on how healing work, wanting to train the one who is operating under that gift.
The same with teaching, evangelism, speaking in tongues etc.
And the best thing these people could do as much as they have never tasted how these gifts work, finding not enough understanding, they end up criticizing these gifts. And as much as these gifts are under pressure, someone who is just imarture in that area will end up losing what they have, because they have been taught that what they have is dangerous. Instead of dealing with crooked characters that might destroy the operations of the gifts, we just dig directly into the gift. Not knowing that we are killing some people. It is an assassination of gifts.
So much care has to be taken when addressing any operation of any gift
If we are not careful we might end up fighting the same thing we are fasting and praying for.
When we want the move of God in the church, and yet speaking negatively about other operations of the Holy Spirit, don’t expect that what you fight will ever come to you.
And this is what we are doing in the body of Christ. Attacking the Holy Spirit that we at the same time want to use us as He wills
Coming to the gift of discerment
There is a way that the gift of discerment works
But to tell the truth, the body of Christ is not well equipped concerning the DISCERNING OF SPIRITS
Especially during these last days, where has spread so much across nations. And governments are bowing down to devil’s deception. The church needs to be very smart to discern anything right from the pulpit to the world
There is deception everywhere, that requires the discerners to be able to discern and avoid.
Now there is a scripture that we love to use whenever we tell people to be careful of some spirits. Wherever we want to warn some people concerning some operations we use this scripture👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
1 John 4:1
[1]Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
But here is the question, How do I test a spirit, what qualification is required for me to put a test on a spirit? And verify a spirit?.
Yes, John continues to say in verse 2 that “every spirit that testify that Jesus is the Christ and He has risen from the dead, comes from God
There is something more that John is telling us in verse one. What if a false prophet comes and says that Jesus has risen from the dead yet the style of his ministry is controversial. What do you say about that?.
What if a false teacher comes, seeming to believe in what you believe in?
There is an understanding that we must get here,
Are we together?☺️
Before you fully come to the confirmation of the presence of a certain kind of spirit whether it is of God or the devil. Understand this “IT TAKES A SPIRIT TO DISCERN THE PRESENCE OF ANOTHER SPIRIT”
To discern means to realize or to discover or to notice the presence of something by considering signals
And discerment vary in levels
It is the only gift that requires marturity to be able to fit well in it. And I believe that this is the reason why most people don’t teach on the way it operates.
Since it requires a spirit to discern another spirit. Because only spirits can see spirits
Even with God, He has got several Spirits too which are of Him.
How do you develop yourself as a spirit to be able to test other spiririts?
