THE HEART OF SERVING

Many have tried to serve God, some are serving but their work is not of value, others are finding it difficult, others are finding it challenging therefore they end up hurting the ones they are ministering to.

The problem here is in the heart and the Art of serving God.

You can have the Art of service according to your environment of service, the custom, culture and the information available ( the informations that you have gathered so far) that helps you develop yourself in the field of service; but if you don’t attain the heart of serving , your work and efforts in the kingdom of God is nothing ( Zero).

Theological institutions can help develop that art of service; but when it comes to the heart of service, none can provide it except the owner of the work ( God). Someone may also have the heart of serving but when he/she doesn’t develop an Art of serving: the passion for serving is at risk.

So both Art and heart for serving are important. But the most important one is an heart of serving.

The heart of serving God is in Love

It is impossible to feel the passion for serving God if you don’t love God. One of things which shows that you love someone, is by serving the person.

As long as we are in Christ Jesus, we have to feel what He feels, know what He knows, and do what He loves to do.

So when we say that the heart of service is in Love; we must understand that God is Love. If you are serving God you must feel His heartbeat.

God is telling Prophet Hosea to take an harlot for a wife ( to marry a prostitute). { Hosea 1:2}. Then Hosea went into a risk of taking a prostitute from the streets🤔 and gave her a home, the prostitute again left to do her prostitution, and Hosea was in pain. What God wanted was for Hosea to feel what HE feels whenever HIS people are turning to other gods. So that kind of Heart was supposed to be in Hosea.

Jesus puts it this way 👇

Matthew 20:28
[28] Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Do we feel what Jesus Christ feels, when someone is sinning even once?

It is that Heart of serving, that will move you into ministry ( to preach the gospel).

Services that are moved by Love, have the tendency of offering a special touch to the hearts of people. It leaves a mark that will not depart for ever. We can both perform the same miracle, but the one among the two if it’s not done as a result of Love and compassion even the testimony will not have a special touch to the hearers.

Are you serving God because of material blessings, or because you love Him.

If we love God, we will serve Him.

Jesus Christ is asking Peter, do you love me? And after Peter was now pained by the question, He tells him “feed my sheep”.

Do you love God? Serve Him (preach the gospel), reach out to others. Give them their rights ( THE GOSPEL)
